Violin

She performs a wide repertoire ranging from Baroque to contemporary music. Currently, she teaches at the School of Music at Nyack College, Manhattan campus. She studied violin at the Central Special Music School, Moscow Conservatory, and Indiana University under Boris Belenky, Igor Bezrodny, Alexander Bonduryansky, Tatiana Gaidamovich, and Miriam Fried. At Indiana University, she also began studying viola with Atar Arad and debuted that same year as a violist with the Dubinsky Quartet.

As a soloist, she has performed in Russia and other former Soviet countries, as well as with orchestras in Romania, Germany, Finland, Japan, and the United States. She has participated in many festivals, including Marlboro, Norfolk, Grand Teton, Rauma (Finland), Waterloo (Belgium), Musique et Amitié (Switzerland), Southampton Arts, Les Nuits Pianistiques (France), Darmstadt (Germany), and others.

She has collaborated with ensembles such as St. Luke’s Orchestra, the Mahler Chamber Orchestra (under Claudio Abbado), SONYC, the NYC Ballet, and others. She has toured Japan multiple times. She has received awards in the George Enescu Violin Competition (Romania) and the Shostakovich Chamber Music Competition (St. Petersburg). Her performances have been broadcast by Russian radio and television as well as by New York’s WQXR. She has recorded for Sony and other acclaimed music labels, including numerous film soundtracks.

As a viola soloist, she appeared in the documentary Dance Maker about the Paul Taylor Dance Company. She has performed on prestigious stages worldwide, including Carnegie Hall, Alice Tully Hall, Avery Fisher Hall, Merkin Hall, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Schauspielhaus Berlin, and the Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory.

She is the co-founder of Interplay Chamber Music Society and has taught at NYU and the Children’s Orchestra Society. She has also appeared on television shows such as Saturday Night Live, Today, and The David Letterman Show as a member of a string quartet.
