Vsevolod Dvorkin was born in 1972 in Moscow, Russia. He began playing the piano at the age of five. He studied at the Children’s Music School (where he later taught for three years) under Prof. N. A. Petrov and later at the Gnessin Special School of Music in Moscow under Prof. E. V. Tolkunova. He continued his studies at the Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory, graduating in 1995 under Prof. V. V. Gornostaeva and Prof. N. V. Troull.
He took masterclasses with K.-H. Kämmerling and S. Perticaroli and participated in several competitions, including the “Premio Dino Ciani” (1993 and 1996 – diploma), “Klara Schumann Wettbewerb” (1994 in Düsseldorf – diploma), “Robert Schumann Wettbewerb” (2000 in Zwickau – diploma); he was a finalist in the “F. Busoni International Piano Competition” in Bolzano (1999) and semifinalist in the “Trapani International Chamber Music Competition” (1994) and “Umberto Micheli Competition” in Milan (1994), where he received a scholarship from M. Pollini and Dr. F. Micheli. Thanks to this, he was able to study in Italy with L. Berman at the “Accademia Pianistica Incontri col Maestro” in Imola and with V. Balzani at the “G. Verdi” Conservatory in Milan, where he graduated with honors in 2000 and received the internal “Premio A. Bocchi 1999” first prize.
In 1996, he won the first prize at the “2nd International Competition of the City of Pavia”, first prize at the “12th Viotti-Valsesia International Competition” in Varallo, second prize (first not awarded) at the “2nd Arturo Benedetti Michelangeli International Piano Competition” in Desenzano del Garda, and second prize (first not awarded) at the “6th International Piano and Orchestra Competition of the City of Cantù” in the Romantic category, where he performed Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto No. 1 and also won the audience and press awards. In 1999, he received third prize at the “1st Gran Prize Ecomusic International Competition” in Monopoli. In 2000, he won first prize in the chamber music category at the “2nd National F. Feroci Competition – City of San Giovanni Valdarno”.
He has performed in Russia (Moscow, St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, Ulyanovsk, Kostroma, Kaliningrad), Germany (Düsseldorf, Osnabrück, Kerken, Essen, Krefeld), South Korea (Seoul), Japan (Tokyo, Kurashiki, Toyama, Naha), Hungary (Miskolc), Mexico (Mexico City), and throughout Italy (Milan, Como, Pavia, Turin, Verbania, Stresa, Latina, Civitanova M., Desenzano, Bologna, Imola, Venice, Bergamo…).
He has performed as a soloist and chamber musician and collaborated with numerous orchestras, including:

As a chamber musician, he has collaborated with artists such as Cristiano Rossi, Pavel Berman, Enrico Dindo, Sonia Bergamasco, M. Bedetti, G. Gallotta, Yong Su Min, Shuku Iwasaki, Seizo Azuma, Ryosuke Hori, Nabuko Yamazaki, Hiroshi Yamagishi, the quintet “Gaudeamus,” the quartet “Nuove Vie,” Francesco Defronze, Luka De Muro, and the “Mozart” and “Rimsky-Korsakov” quartets.
He participated in the international “New Names” program and festivals such as the “Prokofiev Festival” (Rostov-on-Don), “Pianoforum” (Kazan), “Eurofestival” in Camerino, “Rencontre internationale des Jeunes Pianistes” (Paris), “Okinawa International Music Festival,” “Valsassina Festival” (Barzio), “International Festival of San Gimignano,” and “Autunno musicale” (Como).
He has recorded chamber music with violist N. Anikeeva for Croatian Radio HRT. He also served as a jury member for the International Music Competition in Verbania, the International Competition of the City of Pavia in piano and chamber music categories, the International Competition Valsesia Musica, and the Liszt Competition in Parma.
On December 2, 1998, he made his debut in the Sala Verdi in Milan during the “Società dei Concerti” concert season (Emerald Series), performing Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 3 and the rarely played “Slavic Fantasy” by O. Respighi with the Udine Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by N. Matošević.
On December 6, 1999, he debuted in Kioi Hall in Tokyo as part of the prestigious “Music in Style” series.
On June 2, 2001, he made his debut at Nezahualcóyotl Hall in Mexico City.
